Project: Admissions Office, South West England University
Aims: Increased efficiency, reduced paper flow, increased user privacy
We recently undertook a screen project for a large South West England University’s new admissions office. Working in conjunction with the furniture manufacturer we were able to follow the scope of improving the offices’ efficiency. Screenbase System 30 fly-by screens were used for the majority of the installation of 130 screens, the clever brackets on these screens allow for part of the screen to site below the desk forming a modesty panel, whilst the remainder of the screen sits above. This balances the weight of the screen in particular when the tool rails are used with monitor arms which increase bending moments on the screen fixings. The use of tool rails, set at the perfect height for both monitor arms and paper trays resulted in a clutter free desk. This created a much more usable space, reduced paper flow and allowed each desk to have its own sense of space.
