With a much higher need for sustainability and reducing our carbon footprint we have spent a lot of time making large improvements. We use the highest quality materials when manufacturing our screens and we never let an opportunity to use recycled materials pass us by. Although in some cases we do struggle to find recycled materials we are happy that we select where possible, materials with the highest recycled content.

Where recycled materials are not available we select suppliers not only on the basis of their product but also where possible based upon their proximity to Screenbase. We make every effort to lower our carbon footprint by reducing the distance our components have to travel.

We operate a carbon awareness policy with both our inbound products and our waste products. We have consulted with a waste products company and  are very proud that 90% of our waste materials are recycled. Our waste disposal company not only recycle our waste wood and plastics but even the smaller fabric off cuts that are too small for our local schools to use.

We donate useable fabric off cuts to our local schools directly and indirectly through the local recycling project ‘ Scrapstore’. Cardboard tubes, wood off cuts and Perspex panels are recycled through Scrapstore helping reduce landfill.

Whilst we are proud of our recycling efforts we have not stopped there.  At the end of 2010 Screenbase undertook the very large project of refurbishing our factory roof with a fair amount of disruption! The new roof has brought us up to the very latest insulation standards with the double benefit of helping us to reduce our energy bills and become more energy efficient .
